A little of this, a little of that. Perhaps a lot of whining, perhaps a lot of arguing for truth and social justice. It will be what it will be.

tear off a piece of me
I got in a huge fight with the enforcer today. The kind where I wound up running to the bathroom and crying. NOT a good thing. I'm not sure I'm ready to write about it, although I will. I had so many posts planned out in my head, but now I'm just not sure. I'm not even really sure what happened, or if either of us was actually right. I'm really upset though, and really not sure how I'm going to keep working with him. Apparently I'm "hard to work with".

AAAAAAARGH! "Hard to work with" Could this be male speak for "challenges my ego"? I don't know you chick but you strike me as evangelistic, fired up, bright, dedicated..hell, over enthusiastic even but any and all of these can make one hard to work with if it means challenging the status quo - I can't know the details and I wouldn't judge if I could but two things - 1. It's one man's opinion and even if he is your manager (is he?) unless he has issues he wants to make an official deal it's STILL just his opinion and 2. It's a JOB I know you love it, I think you are probably very good at it but it's still a job - don't let it make you cry x
Oh man, tension with bad supervisors SUCKS, especially when layered on top of an already stressful job. I'm glad you stood up for yourself. Get some self care. Quick.
aww thanks guys. Thankfully he's off tonight, and I have the weekend off so I have some time to think about how I want to approach this. The full story will come tomorrow morning. The cat and I had a good cuddle and tomorrow i'll go to yoga.
"hard to work with" usually means you refuse to conform and are motivated to think outside the box. (all good qualities to have.) I have to agree with Caroline, bottom line, it's just a job. I think as social worker's it is inevitable we bring work home with us. Don't let it get to you. Take care of yourself and remember...this too shall pass.
I don't think I can add anything to the wonderful advice already given except - just take care of yourself and cat cuddles.. that's good too!
I'm hard to work with and proud of it. You are hard to work with for all the right reasons. I still cry at work every once in a while. But definitely not as often as if I didn't stay true to what I know is right. Stay strong and be open to considering other opportunities!
